Hero in a Halfling by William Tyler Davis

Posted by

This was a fun read. There isn’t a lot to say about this story except that it is like a mockery of LOTR. That is not saying that William Tyler Davis is dissing on Tolkin, but that he took the character archetypes and re-imagined them like normal people with all of the issues that come with that.

Hero in a Halfling follows, Epic, a hobbit through his adventures and travels as he tries to become a Wizard, meet his father, and stay alive in the world of big people. The books are full of humor and silly situations but also have serious parts dealing with the intrigues of the characters and what they are all trying to get out of life. If you want something light-hearted with some fantasy and humor, this is a good book to read.
